Church on the Rock was founded in 1997 by Edward and Barbara Mwansa in Kitwe, Zambia. What began as a local congregation has grown into a global apostolic movement, now operating as Church on the Rock International Apostolic Network (COTRIAN).
Our Purpose
Church on the Rock International exists to build covenant communities of believers who:
- Embody Biblical Truth – Upholding God’s Word without compromise in an increasingly secular world
- Demonstrate Christ’s Love – Showing the transforming power of authentic Christian community
- Transform Nations – Extending Kingdom influence through the power of the Holy Spirit

Our Structure
Church on the Rock International operates through two interconnected structures:
COTRIAFC (Church on the Rock International Apostolic Family of Churches) – Our local church structure providing pastoral care and spiritual nourishment.
COTRIAN (Church on the Rock International Apostolic Network) – Our international apostolic covering extending ministry beyond local congregations.
Together, we create a powerful dynamic of local church stability with global apostolic impact.
